usatoday:

The University of North Carolina’s newest baseball player is a service dog named Remington. The 3-year-old golden retriever is a trained service dog.

There is a lot of confusion on the post regarding REMINGTON’s status. REMINGTON is a dog trained by the paws4people foundation (my employer who is pending ADI accredidation) and is “dual certified”(certification through p4p for p4p insurance purposes, not through any legal/federal/etc. venue).

His handler Terri Jo is disabled and REMINGTON is her Medical Alert Service Dog. Because she chooses to and because REMINGTON is able to handle it and enjoys the work, he is also a Rehabilitative Facility Dog for UNC.

Terri Jo was nervous when she was interviewed and brain dumped that mega title lol, but please note that he is a highly-trained dog that is legitimate on all fronts.

Thanks!
